NOTICE OF SERVICE
TO: All persons having or claiming an interest or estate in Registered Estate Number 220.
NOTICE is hereby given that a Petition has been filed by Chad H. Stoop, Attorney for ZEB BENSON MAYO, requesting the cancellation of certificate of title of Gary B. Mayo for Registered Estate Number 220 and requesting the issuance of a new certificate of title to Zeb Benson Mayo.
The property described in Registered Estate Number 220 is as follows:
Lying and being in, Hyde County, North Carolina, more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at an iron marker on the southern edge of the right-of-way of U.S. Highway #264, said point being further located as being the southernmost part of that certain portion of Registered Estate #215, conveyed to Simon B. Rich and containing 11,467.99
acres, as shown on the map attached to the transfer to said Rich for said portion of Registered Estate No. 215, and running thence from said beginning point South 9 degrees 30 minutes West 745 feet to an iron marker on the side of the road where the road crosses the aforesaid branch, formerly known as Rose Bay Bridge; thence along the said road South 77 degrees 30 minutes West 2566 feet to the side of the said road; thence along the said road South 85 degrees West 386 feet to an iron marker, being a corner of the line dividing the lands of the John L. Roper Lumber Company from the land of W. R. Cuthrell; thence North 18 degrees 40 minutes West 2029 feet to an iron marker on the southern edge of the right-of-way of U.S. Highway #264; thence along the edge of said right-of-way South 78 degrees 30 minutes East 3524 feet, more or less, to an iron pipe, the point of beginning, and containing 97.2
acres, more or less.
The foregoing parcel of land is subdivided portion of Registered Estate #215 which portion was transferred by Arnold B. Chase to Simon B. Rich, and which said portion so transferred is shown on a map entitled “Map of Weyerhaeuser Company’s Chase and Rich Tract” which shows division between Arnold B. Chase and Simon B. Rich, said map being specifically referred to in the transfer for the foregoing parcel of land. And being the same parcel of land transferred from Rich Waterfront Farms, Inc. to William D. Rich, Robert J. Rich, and Simon B. Rich, Jr., Custodian for Simon B. Rich, III, Sarah A. Rich and Benjamin A. Rich, as recorded in the Office of the Hyde County Register of Deeds in Registration of Land Titles Book 8 at Page 172.
All persons having or claiming any interest or estate in the land above described shall appear on the 6th of September, 2022 at 10:00 A. M. at the office of the undersigned at the Hyde County Courthouse, to show cause, if any exists, why the relief prayed for in the Petition should not be granted.
