Position: Administrative Assistant II (HCSO Division of EMS Division)

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The Hyde County Sheriff’s Office EMS Division is seeking a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant II to join our team on a full-time basis. This individual will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the Sheriff’s Office EMS Division by providing administrative and clerical assistance.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, proficiency in office software, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while ensuring compliance with Sheriff’s Office, EMS, and county policies and procedures,
especially regarding the handling of confidential information.
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5 p.m. (1-hour lunch break)
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework or relevant certification is a plus. Previous administrative experience preferred, especially in a government or office setting. Proficiency in Google Docs and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and general office
equipment (copiers, printers, fax machines). Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact with the public
in a courteous and professional manner. Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information, including personal, financial, and legal documents. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexible and adaptable, with a positive attitude and a willingness to take on new tasks.
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS: Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational support functions of stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Must be able to perform sedentary work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Must possess the visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures; perform accounting functions, transcription, and operate a computer
terminal. Worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
GRADE AND SALARY: Grade 67, Salary Range $33,897-$52,539
