PUBLIC NOTICE
The Beaufort County Emergency Food and Shelter Program has been awarded; Federal funds made available through the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Beaufort County has been chosen to receive $14,
683.00 to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the county.
The selection was made by National Board that is chaired by local representatives from American red, The Salvation Army, Catholic Charities other churches of Christ.
Local Boards will determine how the funds awarded to Beaufort County will be distributed among the agencies.
Under the term of the grant the local agencies chosen to receive funds must
1. Be private voluntary non-profits.
2. Unit of government
3. Be eligible to receive Federal Funds.
4. Have an accounting system.
5. Practice nondiscrimination
6. Have demonstrated, or capability to deliver emergency food or shelter programs.
These agencies in the past have received funds:
The Salvation Army, C.A.R.E, Zion Shelter, Mother of Mercy, Green Lamp, Open door Community Shelter.
